yan jinquan, male, han ethnicity, cpc member, was born in december 1963 and started his career in february 1989. yan holds a master's degree in nuclear reactor from shanghai jiao tong university. he is a professoriate senior engineer and also a postgraduate tutor. his other identities include the deputy chief designer of national major science and technology project “large-scale advanced pwr cap1400”, the design master of china’s nuclear industry engineering, member of the nuclear safety and environment expert committee of national nuclear safety administration (nnsa), chairman of asme china international working group, and member of iaea technical working group on light water reactors. he has won a number of national, provincial and ministerial honors such as model for party members of outstanding projects for central enterprises, national excellent engineering survey and design award, national excellent engineering consulting achievement award, china nuclear energy association science and technology award and prize for progress of science and technology of shanghai. he also enjoys special government allowances of the state council. since august 2019, yan has served as the vice president and chief engineer of state nuclear power technology company & shanghai nuclear engineering research and design institute co., ltd.
