on march 22, 2019, electric power research institute (epri) material reliability program (mrp) seminar was held in shanghai nuclear engineering research & design institute co., ltd. (snerdi). representatives from nuclear energy department of state power investment corporation limited (spic), snerdi, and relative secondary companies of spic were invited to attend the seminar.
epri experts shared the latest development of mrp project, and the tests of environmentally assisted fatigue (eaf), irradiated material, alloy 690 primary water stress corrosion cracking (pwscc) and reactor pressure vessel. attendees discussed reliability of nuclear materials, proposed the suggestions on cooperation mechanism with epri and the potential research areas during the seminar.
snerdi also held a workshop with epri delegation to exchange opinions on strengthening the bilateral cooperation of advanced technologies, realization of complementary advantages of technical resources, and promotion to the safe and sustainable development of nuclear energy.
epri is an american independent, non-profit organization that conducts research and development related to the generation, delivery, and use of electricity to help address challenges in electricity, including reliability, efficiency, affordability, health, safety, and the environment. up to now, epri has over 450 members, covering 359 nuclear power units (accounting for more than 96% of the global transport units) in the world. as a full member of epri, snerdi will make further efforts on deepening the collaboration with epri, digestion and absorption of front-tier technologies to satisfy the upgrading requirements of engineering, operation and maintenance services, and scientific research, which will ultimately benefit the development of nuclear industry and many millions worldwide.
