on april 19, 2019, ms. elizabeth m. keim, president of the international academy for quality (iaq), visited shanghai nuclear engineering research & design institute (snerdi). dr. zheng mingguang, academician of iaq and president of snerdi met the guest and discussed the potential bilateral cooperation on quality assurance.
dr. zheng presented snerdi’s historical footprint, the achievements obtained through gen iii nuclear power plant research & development, and the significance of nuclear power security. he also shared the importance of nuclear sustainable development, the advancement of passive technology and the necessity of forging nuclear power industry supply chain.
ms. keim, combing her experiences in ibm and ge, shared the opinions on quality improvement and strategic planning. both sides expressed the expectation on further cooperation through the international platform provided by iaq to consolidate and bolster the community of shared future.
the international academy for quality is an independent, self-supported, non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 1996. it is administered by a collegial assembly of individuals who have been elected by their peers from among the most respected, active, and experienced protagonists of quality in the world. dr. zheng was elected as iaq academician in 2016 due to his contribution on quality management in the processes of nuclear technology development.
