from january 21 to 23, 2020, delegation from shanghai nuclear engineering research & design institute co., ltd. (snerdi) participated in ivmr (in-vessel melt retention) international seminar in juan les pins, france, which is the final meeting of the h2020 ivmr project to summarize the outcomes.
ivmr is an international cooperation project lead by the french alternative energies and atomic energy commission (cea) and institute for radiological protection and nuclear safety (irsn), which focus on the knowledge gap of ivr strategy. snerdi is invited to attend the meeting as non-member, because of our completed and ongoing projects showing ambition to the ivr. the seminar concentrates on transient analysis, chf experiments, pool stratification, mechanical behavior and methodology of ivr evaluation etc. snerdi shared ivr solution for high power plant, attracting participants’ attentions. meanwhile snerdi was invited to attend a panel discussion on practical applications between designers and utilities, contributing wisdom to the nuclear safety.
as the leading institution of ivr field in our country, snerdi is constructing a series of international advanced facilities such as high temperature prototype material test. expert suggestions and insights were collected to improve experiment and analysis methodology. besides, snerdi discussed future international ivr cooperation potential and operating mode with other organizations, especially in iaea crp (international atomic energy agency coordinated reach project) and chf experiment data exchange.
