wang mingdan, male, han ethnicity, was born in october 1966 and started his career in july 1993. wang holds a bachelor’s degree in structural engineering from tsinghua university’s department of civil engineering and a master’s degree in reactor engineering and reactor safety from shanghai nuclear engineering research and design institute. he is a professoriate senior engineer and was selected as a member of the 12th and 13th national committee of the chinese people’s political consultative conference (cppcc). with nearly 30 years’ experience in nuclear energy research & development, design and project general contracting, wang was the head of the sino-u.s. joint project management organization (jpmo). he fully coordinated the project management, ensured the implementation of plans, and contributed to the successful construction of ap1000 project. since august 2019, wang has served as the president of state nuclear power technology company & shanghai nuclear engineering research and design institute co., ltd.
